Viribus Unitis Watches
Thomas Hiden is the inspirational creator and driving force behind Viribus Unitis Watches. Situated deep in the Vienna Forest in Austria, his one man company produce some truly inspirational designs based on the historical theme of Austro-Hungarian WWI flying aces, and handling his watches, you can feel his sense of pride coming through in the meticulously designed details.
Hallmarks of Viribus Unitis' design DNA include sandwich dials with applied edging on all of the indices' cutouts, a feature we've not seen on any other watch, and great attention to detail, such as dial colors matching the historical paint scheme of the aircraft being represented. His limited edition bronze watches in particular caught our eye with their unusual pre-aging producing a wonderfully rich red-hued patina on marine grade CuSn8 bronze, which in our opinion is the very best bronze option for the richest patinas.
Some of the watches we feature here are among the very last from Viribus Unitis Watches' limited editions, so quantities are extremely limited, and no more of these models will be made. We're really excited that Thomas has agreed to allow us to carry these timepieces, the first time Viribus Unitis has agreed to partner with a retailer, and look forward to working with Viribus Unitis in the future.
