A Rugged Sports Watch

A sports watch needs to be robust for life's everyday adventures. This Second Hour Mandala Pale Gold certainly fits the bill, with scratch resistant sapphire crystal on both the front and back of the watch, a case and bracelet that have also been made more scratch resistant with treatments making them almost 4 time harder than normal 316L steel, 100 meters of water resistance with a screw-down crown, (the same as many dive watches,) and the extremely reliable 9015 automatic high beat movement with Parashock anti-shock protection. Our Mandala is equally prepared for evening adventures too, with it's liberal use of Swiss Super-LumiNova BGW9 cyan blue lume.

An Elegant Dress Watch

The mesmerizing silver-yellow guilloché pattern on the dial plays very nicely with the light as the dial moves, offers a surprising 3D effect that catches the eye. Little touches such as the stripe on the equally elegant crown, or the centered and edged date window all speak to the sophistication of the design. It's great to see unique design features that really help set the Mandalas apart from lesser watches, with their stunning combination of applied indices and double pronged tips on the diamond-cut and faceted hour and minute hands. In short, there is a lot more to see here than just a nice mix of brushed and polished finishes that are also present in this outstanding design, which holds up very well as a pure dress watch too.

Regulation / Accuracy

The accuracy from the factory for these movements is specified to be between -10 and +30 seconds per day, (averaged over all positions when fully wound.) The Microbrand Store™ has permission from Second Hour to test each movement and improve the accuracy where necessary without affecting the manufacturer's warranty.

We will ensure that each watch going out the door is running between 0 and +-9 seconds per day, measured in the dial-up position when fully wound and settled. Most of these lightly regulated movements should run between 0 and +7 seconds per day, very similar to most elaboré grade Swiss movements. A significant quantity should run between 0 and +2 seconds per day based on our experience with this movement.
